New Delhi: Love can make you do bizarre things and can even turn you into a thief! That’s what happened in a case in New Delhi, where a 20-year-old youth decided to go on a bike-stealing spree after being taunted by his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day for not having a bike. The accused has been identified as Lalit Kumar (20), a resident of BhagwatiVihar while his associate has been identified as Saheed (22), a resident of Bindapur area, who have both been arrested by the Delhi police.
Kumar revealed that hurt by his girl friend’s taunt, he decided to have not one but many bikes and began stealing them in collusion with his friend.
“During interrogation, the accused, Lalit told police that he is always fond of parties to impress his girlfriend. Though he had been committing theft of bikes and scooties since many months but one good bike was needed on Valentine day to roam around with his girlfriend following which his girlfriend taunted for not having even a bike,” said the DCP.
The police team also recovered four motorcycles and five scooters from their possession.
“Police arrested the two accused around 6.30 pm on Friday from near a fish market in Matiyala when they were found riding a bike without number plate,” said the DCP.
