In an attempt to isolate himself in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, the king of Thailand- Maha Vajiralongkorn, also called Rama X, has apparently checked himself in a lavish resort in Germany with a harem of 20 concubines and a number of servants. According to reports, the Thai king is currently enjoying the luxury at the Alpine resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen where he is accompanied by 20 beautiful women. However, there is no report of his 4 wives being with him. The hotel, which is currently closed and is not functional, has allowed the king and his girls to stay after receiving a special permission from the district council to accommodate the king’s huge entourage. Making this an exception to the rule, the district council said that “the guests are a single, homogenous group of people with no changes”.
This news amid the coronavirus crisis has anguished several people who have been demanding that the king should be put behind bars for at least 15 years.
Renowned activist Somsak , who has always been a vocal critic of Thailand’s monarchy, shared a series of posts on social media that showed how Vajiralongkorn has been traveling from Switzerland to various places in Germany since early March.
“(Vajiralongkorn will) let the Thai people worry about the virus. Even Germany is worried about the virus, (but) it’s none of his business,” said Jeamteerasakul in one of his posts.
The coronavirus has so far infected 1245 people in Thailand with almost 100 new cases each day and has taken more than 38, 775 lives across the globe.
