United Spirits’ share is seen flat at Rs 1,394.90  till the stock market closed on Monday. The company makes many luxury liquor brands such as – Royal Challenge, Johnny Walker, Signature, Antiquity. All of these brands are very popular among alcohol enthusiasts.

Conversely, the company offers affordable alcoholic beverages such as Bagpiper and McDowells. Media reports indicate that McDowells is the least expensive liquor from United Spirits and is also the top-selling product.

In January this year, United Spirits (Diageo India) appointed Praveen Someshwar as chief executive officer-designate. He took the charge on March 1, replacing Hina Nagarajan. Hina joined Diageo’s global executive committee after heading its Indian operations as managing director and CEO for four years.

Someshwar has held the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at HT Media for the past five years. Prior to this role, he worked in various capacities at PepsiCo in India and throughout the Asia Pacific region for more than 24 years.
