2. Think your toilet is full of bacteria? Read this- computer keyboards can carry more than 200 times as many bacteria as a toilet seat, mobile phones have 18 times more bacteria than toilet handles. Even the average office desk has 400 times more bacteria than a toilet!
3. The average toilet uses 6 liters (1.6 gal) of clean water in a single flush. Guess scientists should try and find some way of cutting down that water usage.
4. The inhabitants of ancient Rome had a sewer goddess, a toilet god, and a god of excrement! Cloacinawas the goddess who presided over the Cloaca Maxima, meaning the ‘Great Drain’ which was the main trunk of the system of sewers in Rome. Crepitus was the Romans’ god of excrement, and was believed to have the power to punish a sinner through constipation, or make him suffer him through diarrhea. In fact, he was also the god of flatulence!
