Prior to the announcement, Delhi Police on Tuesday took to Twitter to host a QnA session in order to spread awareness about coronavirus, clear misconceptions, and answer queries of citizens regarding the same. One of the lockdown queries was by a man who asked if he could visit his friend for some work. Twitter user Deepak Pyal tweeted, “sir main within 2km k under apne dost k ghar ja skta hun kisi kaam se? #LockdownQuery (Sir, can I visit my friend’s house who stays within 2 kilometre for some work?)”

Replying to the tweet, Delhi police said, “Agar sachhe dost jo to ghar pe raho. Video call kar lo.#StayAtHomeSaveLives. (If you are a true friend, stay at home. Talk on a video call.”

The answer has now gone viral, with netizens being impressed with the epic reply. Social media users also lauded the department for its work and dedication in such crucial times.

To tackle the spread of coronavirus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a nationwide lockdown of three weeks and said that social distancing is the only solution to remain safe from coronavirus.

Making an emotional appeal ‘with folded hands’, PM Modi said that unless India’s 130 crore people practice social distancing, the country will lose the war against coronavirus outbreak.
