Alabama: An American couple has been tricking strangers to get free drinks in bars by staging a fake wedding proposal. Reportedly, Corinne Miller and Adam Carroll, who hail from Prattville, Alabama, went on vacation to Atlanta to celebrate Corinne’s birthday last July. While on vacation, they didn’t want to spend much money, so they came up with a plan. Also Read - Here's How A German Artist Caused Fake Traffic Jam on Google Maps Using 99 Smartphones
They decided to fake a proposal and pretend to get engaged to get free drinks at a bar. And their plan worked as many people moved by their love, including the bartender, offered free shots to them.
Miller told a UK daily that people started buying them shots and congratulating them for the engagement, which she found was hilarious but a great way to get free drinks.
The same thing happened at the second bar too where they received celebratory drinks in honour of their fake engagement.
However, six months after the Alabama couple’s trip to Atlanta, Adam got down on one knee to actually propose to Corinne and she said yes!
