Valentine’s day which is the day of love and romance is celebrated every year on February 14. And as the V day is just around the corner, many couples have started prepping up for the same. On this day, every year several couples gift each other roses and express their love. And this year on Valentine’s day many western nations will be filled with the beautiful scent of Kolhapuri roses.Yes, the flower shops in abroad will be full with Kolhapuri roses. For the V day, there is a high demand for roses, especially Kolhapuri ones in many nations including UK, Japan, Australia, Holland, Sweden and Dubai.

The Kolhapur traders who supply flowers to different nations revealed that around 12 lakh roses will be exported particularly for the occasion. Every year for Valentine’s day roses are exported from Kolhapur to western countries. In Kolhapur, roses, especially the red, pink and yellow ones are cultivated on a large scale.

But the most demanded ones are the fresh red ones. Kondigre village of Shirol tehsil of Kolhapur district is very famous for cultivating roses. More than 20 varieties of roses are cultivated in 105 acres in Kondigre village. There is a great demand of Kolhpuri roses in abroad as they produce best quality roses. Along with foreign nations, there is a huge demand for roses of Kolhapur in the India too.
