Pakistan on Sunday defeated India by 180 runs in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 winning the trophy. They lifted their first ICC title since the 2009 World Twenty20 win. Following the win, Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed urged other nations to play international cricket in the country. Kohli in the post-match presentation also congratulated Pakistan for their victory. Kohli said, “They (Pakistan) deserved to win. They certainly played very good cricket and they also needed victories like this for them as a team. So, you understand those dynamics as a team when things are not happening and you win a tournament like this and so, credit to them for winning the title today (Sunday).” India had won the toss and opted to bowl first.
