Newlyweds Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma returned to India a day after their honeymoon in an undisclosed location in Europe. After their return, the couple met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the capital to invite him to their wedding reception in Delhi. ‘Virushka’, as the couple is lovingly called, will be hosting a grand wedding reception at Hotel Taj Palace in Delhi on December 21 for relatives. This will be followed by another reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on December 26. Soon after their meeting, a photograph of Virat and Anushka with PM Modi went viral. The Twitterati has given a big thumbs up to the picture and has blessed the couple with a happy married life. Many also appreciated the prime minister for taking time from his schedule to meet the couple. 

During the meeting, prime minister Narendra Modi congratulated the couple on their wedding and is reportedly set to attend the wedding reception that will be hosted in Delhi today. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma who were dating for the past few years, tied the knot in Tuscany, Italy on December 11. After the meeting, an official tweet was sent from the PMO India handle on Twitter. The tweet read: Captain of the Indian cricket team @imVkohli and noted actor @AnushkaSharma met PM @narendramodi this evening. The Prime Minister congratulated them on their wedding.

The wedding was an extremely private affair and the couple, as well as sources close to them, kept denying the news of the wedding until it actually happened. Virat and Anushka put out a joint statement announcing their marriage on their social media accounts after their wedding. Since then the internet has been flooded with photos and videos of the wedding and the related ceremonies – engagement, mehendi and haldi. Anushka also uploaded a picture from their honeymoon with the caption that said from heaven, literally.
