April 13: The royal visitors from Britian have already wooed Indians by localizing with the people here. Everything from Duchess Kate Middleton and Duke Prince William’s batting skills to Bollywood dinner meets are everywhere on the social media. The British royals who are on a seven-day tour to India today visited the Kaziranga forest which is famous for the one-horned rhinoceros. They also went on a jeep safari ride inside the park and spotted one of the rhinos. The couple also met some of the forest officials and interacted with the locals there. Meanwhile, ahead of their visit to the forest, officials of Survival International, a non-government organisation has appealed the Duke of Cambridge to raise issue of thr tribals in the forest. They said that they have contacted the Prince who is the patron of several conservation charities and has urged him to raise concern about the conservation policies with the Indian authorities. The NGO also said that the 62 people have been shot by the wildlife guards in just nine years in the Kaziranga.
