Mumbai: Well, it’s 2020 and each day brings us something quite unexpected! On Monday, a 14-feet long Indian rock python was accidentally caught under the wheels of a car at Eastern Express highway in Mumbai, leaving onlookers shocked. Also Read - WHAT? According to officials, the reptile was spotted by motorists on a stretch of the highway at suburban Chunabhatti, following which a rescue team was summoned to the spot. As a result, the traffic movement was stalled for nearly an hour on Monday morning as a huge crowd assembled to witness the rare sight.

The video of the rescue shows officials lifting the car and freeing the python from the wheel of the vehicle.

The video was shared on Instagram by Viral Bhayani who captioned the video as, “Rescue workers free an Indian Rock Python caught under the wheels of a car at Eastern Express Highway in Mumbai.”

“Had the vehicles continued moving, the python could have been run over,” said a traffic police officer.

Meanwhile, the video of the incident has gone viral, and netizens have applauded the team for saving the snake while others expressed shock.

After the rescue operation, the snake was released into a forest.
