The six-second clip, which has gone viral now, was first shared on Twitter by a user named Mike. In the video, the doctor is seen returning home from the hospital, following which his child runs to hug him. However, the doctor stops him from coming too close and then sits on the ground, breaking into tears.

The doctor, identified as Nasser Ali Al Shahrani is working at the King Salman Hospital in Riyadh, who lamented how the pandemic has changed the family life of healthcare workers.

“The aim of the clip was to make citizens and residents aware of hazards of the coronavirus and to comply with arrangements and instructions of the Health Ministry,” Shahrani told Saudi newspaper Okaz.

He also advised all his fellow colleagues to stop approaching their children and families until they wash their hands and take the necessary precautions.

The video has made netizens emotional, with people applauding the doctor for his service. One user wrote, “What a toll this virus and stress must take on those at the battlefront. Social distancing when we most need a hug. May God bless them and their families. May he forgive us and heal us.”
