Uma Bharti further expressed her happiness that Narendra Modi contested and won from the banks of the Ganga (Varanasi) and that she had been trusted with the Save the Ganga project to revive the river back to life. The government will work out a policy initiative for the river development of other main water bodies as well as Ganga Rejuvenation. But no particular time frame as been specified. The Water Resources Ministry has been renamed as the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
