Hours after the Indian Army, on Monday, 29 April, claimed to have sighted footprints of the “mythical beast” Yeti for the first time near the Makalu Base Camp in the Himalayas, former BJP MP Tarun Vijay firstly congratulated the army for their achievement then brought a different demand altogether. He took objection to the Army using the word “beast” to describe the creature. In a tweet, he said, “Congratulations, we are always proud of you. salutes to the #IndianArmy Mountaineering Expedition Team. But please, you are Indian, don’t call Yeti as a beast. According to folklore, Yeti, or ‘Abominable Snowman’, roams in the Himalayan region but has never been spotted, and there is no evidence of it. It is also commonly referred to as Meh-Teh (man-bear) and Kang-mi (snowman).
