IFS Ruchira Kamboj was born on May 3, 1964 and is currently India's Representative to the United Nations.
IFS Ruchira Kamboj's father was an Indian Army officer and her mother was a Sanskrit professor at the University of Delhi.
As her father was in the army, Ruchira Kamboj was schooled across the country in Delhi, Vadodara and Jammu. Later, she studied at the Wynberg Allen School in Mussoorie.
After her schooling, Ruchira Kamboj did her MA in Political Science from the University of Delhi.
IFS Ruchira Kamnoj also has a degree from the London School of Economics (LSE).
Ruchira Kamboj is an Indian Foreign Service officer from 1987 batch; she was an All-India women's topper in the Civil Services Examination that year.
IFS Ruchira Kamboj is the first female Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations.
