Engineer Turned Actor: Jitendra Kumar belongs to a family of engineers. He has Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Kharagpur! He even won a bronze medal in Hindi speech.
Early Struggles: After graduation, he started working in corporate, but soon realized his passion lay in acting. He quit the job and faced many challenges while trying his luck in career. He even got rejected in the second round of auditions for the National School of Drama (NSD).
The Viral Fever Connection: Jitendra met Biswapati Sarkar, who was associated with The Viral Fever(TVF). Biswapati Sarkar offered him a chance to join their team and this turned out to be a turning point in Jitendra’s career.
Mumbai Hustle: After joining TVF, Jitendra moved to Mumbai to fully pursue his career in acting. And did some small projects to make his living there.
Kota Factory Fame: His role as Jeetu Bhaiya in Kota factory made him a household name which resonated with students preparing for competitive exams.
Panchayat Popularity: In the web series Panchayat, Jitendra played ‘Abhishek Tripathi’, a village secretary. Audiences loved his character and it gave a significant boost to his career.
Award Winner: Jitendra won the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actor for his performance in ‘Panchayat’.
Bollywood Debut: He made his Bollywood debut in the film ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ playing a lead role in same-sex love story.
