Here’s a look at five creative ways astronauts stay clean at the International Space Station:
For Oral hygiene, astronauts use minimal water while brushing their tooth, and wipes off excess toothpaste.
They use no-rinse shampoo to wash their hair. Astronauts rub the no-rinse shampoo into their hair and towel-dry without rinsing.
Astronauts don’t take baths, instead, they use no-rinse body wipes to clean themselves at the ISS.
Instead of cleaning clothes, astronauts wear disposable clothes which they dispose after use.
They routinely wipe down the spacecraft’s surfaces with disinfectant wipes and vacuum-cleaner-like devices to prevent bacteria from building up.
