West Bengal Murder: A 14-year-old girl and her underaged boyfriend have been arrested in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal for allegedly killing the teenage girl’s mother because she disapproved their romantic relationship and often scolded her daughter over the matter.
The shocking incident came to light after over a month when the girl’s father filed a complaint, accusing his teen daughter and a friend of hers of killing his wife.
The man claimed that the minor duo killed his wife at their house on June 6, but he was scared to approach the police to file a complaint because her daughter and her alleged boyfriend– also a minor– had threatened kill him the same way they did his wife if he told the police or anyone.
In his complaint, filed over a month after the alleged murder, the man stated that his 14-year-old daughter had met the boy on social media and claimed the duo have been in a relationship for over one-and-a-half years.
He said that the girl’s mother, his slain wife, did not approve of the relationship and often reprimanded her daughter over the matter, adding that the teenage couple had threatened to kill her on several occasions.
On the night of June 6, the girl called her boyfriend to her house and the boy allegedly strangulated the woman and repeatedly punched her in the chest, resulting in her death, the man claimed in his complaint.
The man further said that when he woke up due to noise, the boy pushed him out of the bed and threatened to kill him the same way he did the girl’s mother if he approached the police or told anyone.
Scared for his life, the man had then told the police that his wife died due to natural causes and cremated her on the next afternoon.
Meanwhile, police said they have arrested both minors who have confessed to the crime and will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.
They said that a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered against the duo, adding that further investigation is underway.
