Meet Aiswarya S Menon, Vande Bharat Loco Pilot, Who is Invited For Narendra Modi' Oath Taking Ceremony

Narendra Modi has been officially designated to be taking oath on Sunday as the newly-elected Prime Minister by President Droupadi Murmu. The swearing-in ceremony will witness nearly 8,000 special guests. Among this list, Aiswarya S Menon has made her place too. Menon is a female loco pilot who works on the Vande Bharat trains. Asia’s first female loco-pilot, Surekha Yadav, will also attend the ceremony on June 9.

All About Aiswarya S Menon

Menon is Senior Assistant Loco Pilot of the Chennai Division of Southern Railway. She has been invited from the southern railways. Having worked in premium trains like Vande Bharat and Jan Shatabdi, the experienced loco pilot has clocked a significant of more than 2 lakh hours footplate hours piloting. Achieving such feat is no cake walk and Aiswarya did with earnest dedication.

She is recognized for her dexterity and hardwork and has been awarded several accolades for her alertness, agility, and comprehensive knowledge of railway signaling. She regularly works on the Chennai–Vijayawada and Chennai–Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express services.

Surekha Yadav, Asia’s First Female Loco Pilot to Attend Modi’s Oath-Taking Ceremony

Asia’s first loco pilot, Surekha Yadav, will attend the oath-taking ceremony of Narendra Modi as prime minister for a third term, an official from the Central Railway said on Friday. Yadav, who is piloting the Vande Bharat train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Solapur, is among ten loco pilots invited for the ceremony slated to be held on June 9 in New Delhi, the official said.

Hailing from Satara in the western Maharashtra region, Yadav became India’s first female train driver in 1988. She has won many awards at the state and national levels so far for her achievements.

She is the first woman loco pilot of the semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express plying between Solapur and CSMT in Mumbai.

According to PTI reports, sources said all major allies of the BJP, such as the TDP, JD(U), Shiv Sena and the LJP(R), will be given representation in the government during its swearing-in ceremony.
